Visit ISS
Reading about a school tells you little. Standing in it tells you everything. Come and see lessons in progress, and meet the principal.
Three ways to see the school
A visit is the first step of the application process, and it comes before anything else. Whichever form you choose, you will see the school on an ordinary working day rather than a staged one.
Choose what suits you
What each visit includes, and how long it takes, is confirmed when you book.
An information evening
A group evening for families considering the school.
A Taster Day
A day in the year group your child would join.
An individual visit
A private appointment: a tour of the school and a conversation with the principal.
Where to find us
The school is at Corso Enrico Pestalozzi 9, 6900 Lugano, in the centre of the city. Open the location on a map.
Families travelling from Como reach us across the border in around half an hour by car; from Varese it is a little further. Write to admin@isswitzerland.ch if you would like directions before you set out.
Questions about visiting
Do we need to book a visit in advance?
Yes. Every visit is arranged in advance so that the right people are there to meet you and your child can sit in on the right lessons.
Should we bring our child?
For a Taster Day, yes - the day is built around your child joining the year group they would enter. For an information evening or an individual visit it is up to you.
Do we have to apply before we visit?
No. The visit comes first. An application only follows if you decide the school is right for your family.
Can we visit if we are relocating and not yet in Ticino?
Yes. Many of our families first make contact from abroad. Write to us and we will arrange a time that fits your travel.
What language will the visit be in?
English or Italian, whichever you prefer. Both are languages of instruction at the school.
