Questions about getting here

How do we get to Lugano from Milan?

By train from Milano Centrale via Chiasso to Lugano, or by car on the A9 and A2 via Chiasso. The City of Lugano gives about one hour for either. Bring identity documents: Chiasso is a border crossing.

How far is the school from Como?

Como is just across the border. Trains from Como San Giovanni cross at Chiasso and stop at Lugano; by car the route is the Chiasso crossing and the A2. Check the current time on sbb.ch, because it depends on the hour and on the border.

Which airport do we fly to?

Milan Malpensa is the nearest intercontinental airport, with direct trains to Lugano of about an hour and a half. Zurich Airport is reached by train through the Gotthard Base Tunnel.

Is there parking at the school?

The school is in the city centre, where parking is in public car parks and blue zones. Ask at reception or write to us before you come; the school will tell you the nearest option for that day.

Does the school run a bus service?

The school has not published a bus service on this website. Ask admissions how families from your area travel each day.

Can my child travel by public transport alone?

Lugano station and the city buses are close to the school, and older students commonly travel independently in Switzerland. Whether that suits your child is a family decision; the school can tell you how its students of the same age arrive.

Can we see the school before applying?
